Burton does Burton!

Which Richard Burton movie should Tim Burton remake?

Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?

While drinking tonight's bottle of Syrah called "Red Bicyclette," I noticed that imdb.com includes the following in a list of the film's trivia: "During shooting, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton used identical red bicycles, lettered in gold, to get around the huge Warner Bros. studio lot." It's KISMET!

Taming of The Shrew

Because Burton would take it literally, and I, for one, would like to see Johnny Depp ride a shrew.

_____________________________________________________________________________________

Exorcist II: The Heretic

This movie is terrible to begin with, but with the exorcism in Africa and Louise Fletcher's character using the strobe light to hypnotize Regan, I'm sure Tim Burton could do something rather spectacular. Could you imagine, Tim Burton's take on exorcisms!!!

_________________________________________________________________________________________

All of the above

'Cause he'd be the only one to pull it off successfully...

_____________________________________________________________________

Doctor Faustus

A man sells his soul to the devil to have the woman he loves... if that synopsis doesn't say Tim Burton then I don't know what does! Plus it was the only movie Richard Burton directed! (plus Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter would look great in it!)

_____________________________________________________________________

Taming of The Shrew

I would love to see Tim Burton's take on a Shakespearean classic, especially since it'd likely be a much darker interpretation of what many consider to be part of Shakespeare's "lighter" work. _____________________________________________________________________________________

Cleopatra

need to experience the thrill of a new generation cleopatra

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________

Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?

I want to SEE the emotion, Tim Burton style!! The story can stay the same, but Tim could do so much visually to compliment the dialogue.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Cleopatra

Because that's how we'll finally learn how the aliens built the pyramids and probably Tim will also let us know that Cleopatra was the alien queen!

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________

Taming of The Shrew

would love to see the story told from a really dark and sinister point of view (i.e. psychologically).

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________

All of the above

Tim Burton gives darkness and romanticism to any film making it unique and of his own. He makes us realize that even in dark times there is kindness and beauty from his darkest characters. He brings magic to conflicted worlds and makes you fall in love with his troubled characters. He can make anything into a masterpiece making you feel that being dark and different is not that bad.

____________________________________________________________________________________________________

Cleopatra

I one time saw a bird riding on the back of a squirrel and I said "whoa, that's weird...but I'm intrigued" - I think that I would have the SAME reaction if Tim Burton remade Cleopatra.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________

Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (1966)

Because it can take on a really dark shade of blue

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________

1984

Tim Burton should remake the Richard Burton classic 1984. George Orwell's dark vision of the future (or now the past), it's a perfect project for Tim Burton.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________

Taming of The Shrew

Burton's take on this story would be original and entertaining.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________

Nightmare Before Christmas

It would be a lot creepier now.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________

Cleopatra

I think tim Burton would give cleopatra a unique look and either make her a scary being that everyone would remember because they would be having nightmares every night or make her so unique it would stay with people who will think it was so cool and wow with the whole wow factor

The V.I.P.s. (Hotel International)

...Tim Burton is long overdue to set a movie in an airport... a nightmarish locale that actually ISN'T overly shadowed or weirdly lit. Plus, our celebrity culture begs to revisit the premise of stranded V.I.P.s languishing in a terminal on their way to nowhere. Burton's role will be played by Christian Bale, a man I wouldn't want to irritate at a security checkpoint (yet he does seem rather suspicious of something). _____________________________________________________________________________

Taming of The Shrew

Cause it is just time.. Plus Shakespeare is awesome! + Burton = genius!!!

_____________________________________________________________________________________

Cleopatra

Because its a good story about someone different being beautiful and I think that Tim Burton would do a great job at creating a great production design.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________

The Exorcist 2

I want to see Tim Burton make a film without using CG Graphics. Just like he did in the early 90's and 80's. Im a huge fan of horror so I say something like The Exorcist 2.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Taming of The Shrew

Because, I think it would be really funny and interesting to see how Burton would Burtonize it, most likely as a musical.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Cleopatra

I would love to see Helena as Cleopartra & the twisted mind of Tim Burton would be make her someone incredibly amazing & even in the light of Liz Taylor a bit. He'd totally distort all the characters & make them the most interesting spectacles of a alternate life. Especially if he decides to make it claymation. Maybe there will even be music & dancing. I think we're all do another magical, musical journey through his glorious eyes.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Anything that is not dark and brooding.

He needs to get out of his comfort zone and make something that isn't exactly like everything else he has done. I get having a personal style but its verging on cliche.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Cleopatra

I believe if he turned Cleopatra into a dark twisted nightmare, it would show a lot of difference in past life's and the new post modernism. If combining a cult like movie with Cleopatra it would be a beautiful challenge, and personally attract a lot of different audiences! I would love to see this re-made.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________

the medusa touch

so burton can lend a hand at a psychological thriller!

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Taming of The Shrew

Tim Burton can reintroduce this story to a new generation. The story itself is such a "Burton film" so creatively he can make it look amazing but also have have characters tat the audience will like.

__________________________________________________________________________________________

Villain

I'd like to see him do a crime film set in London... Something that is dark, violent and not a musical...

__________________________________________________________________________________________

Cleopatra

A film that seems to be forgotten or not seen by people today. Tim Burton has the ability to revitalize a classic.

__________________________________________________________________________________________

Taming of The Shrew

He could put a very interesting twist on a classic Shakespeare play. ________________________________________________________________________________________

Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?

I think it would be really great to see his dark and creative take on it. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________
